Laminate
Q. Are laminate floors easy to clean?
A. Yes. A Mannington Laminate Floor is the closest thing there is to a
maintenance free floor. Ordinary vacuuming or sweeping is usually sufficient to keep the
floor clean. If needed, an occasional damp mopping with Mannington Award Series® Cleaner
is recommended. (Note: Never flood the floor with water.)
Q. What is the difference between Mannington Wood Floors and Mannington Laminate Floors?
A. A wood floor is just that, it is made out of wood. A laminate floor can
look like a wood floor, but it is really a picture of a wood floor.

Laminate floor is constructed click here.
Mannington Wood Floors are engineered with 5-ply construction, laid cross-grain to those
above and beneath it, which adds stability to the floor. Our wood floors also have a 7-Step
UltraWear® polyurethane finish, which protects from wear and scuffs.
Mannington Laminate Floors are created using ThermoComposite™ Construction, which fuses
five distinct components together in one single step to create an extremely durable floor
of the highest quality.
Both are excellent choices in flooring and often the decision between the two depends on the
amount of traffic the room gets and your decorative preference or the look you are trying to
achieve in the room.
Q. What is iCORE®?
A. iCORE®, although categorized as a laminate floor, is not the laminate
floor you'd expect. iCORE® is an entirely new category of flooring.
-
iCORE® is an Advanced Composite, an entirely synthetic product, which has a patent
pending innercore construction. The entire product is waterproof.
-
iBEAM® construction provides, on average, five times the dent and impact resistance
as compared to traditional laminates.
-
iBEAM® construction creates sound dampening chambers for a quieter sound.
-
25-year Residential and 10-year light Commercial warranty for wear, fade, stain
and water damage!
Q. Can laminate flooring be installed in a bathroom or laundry room?
A. Mannington provides installation instructions for wet areas such as
bathrooms, laundry rooms and utility rooms. Mannington's laminate flooring is warranted
against topical moisture resulting from normal household use such as wet shoes, spilled
liquids, dripping off while exiting the bathtub or shower. These normal household activities
will not harm the flooring.
Q. What type of chair protectors can I use on laminate flooring?
A. Support furniture with wide-bearing, non-staining floor protectors.
Ideally, the protectors should be at least one inch in diameter, made of non-pigmented,
hard plastic and rest flat on the floor. Non-staining felt protectors are also acceptable.
Casters with a minimum 3/4" flat surface width or floor protectors are recommended for all
moveable furniture. Make sure any metal protectors are rustproof. Replace your narrow-dome
furniture rests with wide-bearing ones.
Q. What type of mat can I place on my laminate floor?
A. Use doormats outside each entrance to your home to prevent dirt, sand,
grit and other substances such as oil, asphalt and driveway sealer from being tracked onto
your floor. Use non-staining mats on your floor. Do not put rubber-backed, latex-backed or
cocofiber mats on your floor as they may stain or damage the surface. Staining can also occur
if there is a dye transfer from an object that has been laid on the floor. As is the
standard in the industry, this type of staining is not covered under the warranty, as we
cannot control what kinds of objects are laid on our floors. We recommend only placing
mats that state "non-staining" on the tag.
Q. How well do Mannington laminate floors perform?
A. Our Laminate flooring has a surface embossing that creates impressive
realism, a variety of wood grains that suits any décor, the look and feel of actual stone
complete with grout lines, random-width patterns to create a rustic effect, carefree
maintenance, and a high-wear overlay that ensure years of enjoyment. Our Revolutions Tile
and Plank Collections, the NatureForm™ Collection and the Coordinations Collection all
come with a 25 year warranty.
