Mannington: A company whose past is alive in the present
As we celebrate and mark the new millennium at Mannington, it has never been more evident to me how profoundly the past sets the stage for the future. Nothing makes this more evident than reflection upon the significant role that my father, John (Johnny) B. Campbell II, had in the company's past and the role his spirit of enthusiasm and "can do" still plays in Mannington's present place in the flooring industry.
My father left behind a great legacy. Johnny Campbell was the catalyst that drove this company. His far-reaching vision about what the company could achieve and what it grow into has resulted in a thriving, competitive enterprise devoted to innovation and excellence.
Even as the industry changes and grows, Mannington effectively operates by the enduring core values it was founded on. Day by day, month by month, and throughout all the minute complexities of running a multi-market, multi-product corporation, these beliefs remain immutable. Mannington's enduring core values enable it to successfully navigate the most demanding of times with the same integrity, focus and determination of its founders.
Our core values - "Do the Right Thing," "Care," "Work Hard & Play Hard," "Control Your Own Destiny" - are our touchstone. Integral in all that we do and aspire to accomplish, these values make us different. They've played a key role, making us an industry leader throughout the years as we grew, improved and began new endeavors. They're what make us unique in today's business world, as we try to create the best future for our employees, community and customers.
With such a sound foundation, we can look forward to each season and to each new challenge as an adventure that will add to the richness of our history. I'm proud to be part of the Campbell family legacy. Johnny, like his father and grandfather before him, left behind a clear path of intention and integrity to follow. I'm proud that the leaders and associates of this company follow this example by dedicating themselves to Mannington's success for many generations to come.
